Young Scandinavian Society for Immunology (ySSI) has launched!

Young Scandinavian Society for Immunology (ySSI) aims to build a network of early career researchers (ECRs) working in immunology in Norway, Finland, Iceland, Denmark, and Sweden, to disseminate their research, defend their interests and support their career development as well as to increase their visibility on both European and international level.

ySSI is an initiative supported by the Scandinavian Society for Immunology (SSI). We are a part of the EFIS Young Immunologist Network (yEFIS) with currently more than 450 ECRs from all over Europe and over 24 national immunology societies (including us as ySSI).

We have many exciting things planned, so please sign up at the link below so that you don’t miss out on information:

The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center (SIC) will recruit 1-2 group leaders during 2021-22. We now welcome letters of interest from scientists with an outstanding track record and innovative vision for a new independent research group within the area of skin immunology.

SIC addresses fundamental research questions within modern immunology and aims to become a platform for world-leading studies in skin immunology and inflammation. The new group leaders will establish independent research programmes within the field of immunology and skin biology/disease. The primary criteria for future group leaders are excellence in fundamental research and/or translational research and a genuine interest in interacting with other researchers at the centre in order to develop it as a research centre of excellence.

Candidates’ background includes an MD, PhD or equivalent degree, postdoctoral training and a strong track record of publications and as corresponding author published in leading journals. International networks and experience, such as training in high-quality institutions and universities globally, are meriting. Applicants must qualify for a professorship or associate professorship at the University of Copenhagen.

  • Attractive modern laboratory and offices in the heart of Copenhagen
  • Access to cutting-edge technologies through shared-resource platforms and staff expertise in flow cytometry, single-cell sequencing, genomics, imaging and data analytics.
  • A vibrant scientific community with a strong internal synergy suited for easy collaboration and exchange with other centres and departments at the University of Copenhagen and the greater Danish scientific community.

About the centre

The LEO Foundation Skin Immunology Research Center was founded in 2019 based on a ten-year grant. It is a vibrant, internationally diverse and ambitious research environment with state-of-the-art facilities and technologies located at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen. The location on the twelfth floor of the Maersk Tower is ideal for collaboration and exchange with other centres and departments within the faculty and Copenhagen science community.
